Area

　　Alishan Township is 427.71 km2, which accounts for 22% of the total area of the County (which is about 195,139.45 km2).  Dabang, Laiji, Lijia, Shanmei, Shinmei and Chashan villages are reserved for the aboriginals. Fifteen percent of the land, which covers 6.388 hectares, is used by the aboriginals and the remaining 85% are state-owned timberland, forest land not in need of reservation and other state-owned and private land.
