About the Tsou 

 　　The indigenous people living in Alishan (also known as Mountain Ali) usually call themselves the Cou (or the Tsou), meaning man or human being. Scholars generally divide the Cou into two groups: the north and the south. The Cou in the north include Tfuya, Dabangu, Luhgu as well as Imucu, which has disappeared. The former two groups mainly reside in Dabang, Leye, Laiji, Lijia, Shanmei, Shinmei and Chashan villages and they are considered the main population of the Cou in Alishan area.
